On the 17th of September, the Senate Committee on Aging released entitled, The Consequences of Clutter. It is extremely encouraging to see our elected officials working to address the increasingly prevalent and vastly underserved issue of Hoarding Disorder (HD). This year, through a grant from The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, Fight the Blight introduced the first comprehensive program to address HD in our region. The program is four-fold, offering weekly support groups, in-home sorting and organizing assistance, debris and trash removal, and professional therapy. The results, thus far, have been extremely encouraging and impactful, but there is so much more to do.

Within the report an extremely compelling video was included which illustrates the fire hazards that are prevalent in excessively cluttered areas. It is available below.
